Chris Conrad is in his ninth year leading the Liberty Hurricanes. A USPTR Professionally Certified Coach and USPTA Elite Professional, Conrad spent a decade as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s teams at Moravian University. He previously served as the Director of Junior Development at Winning Touch Tennis.
Deeply committed to local tennis, Conrad has served on the USTA Eastern PA Committee, is an active member of the USTA Middle States Coaching Recruitment Committee, and is the District XI representative for the Pennsylvania State Tennis Coaches Association. A proud Liberty High School alumnus, former player, and dedicated social studies teacher, he has played a pivotal role in the Hurricanes' success.
Under his leadership, both the boys' and girls' programs have reached the district team finals multiple times, earning silver with the girls ('20, '23) and boys ('21), along with district titles for the boys in 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. His coaching excellence has been widely recognized—he was named Boys Coach of the Year by Lehigh Valley Live and The Morning Call in 2019 and 2022, received the USTA EPD HS Coach of the Year award for 2021-2022, and was honored as the 2023 Middle States High School Coach of the Year.
Sarah Lazarchak is in her first year leading the Liberty Hurricanes Girls Tennis program. A former collegiate standout, Lazarchak competed for Kutztown University in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference after a successful high school career at Nazareth Area High School. Her experience at both the Division II and EPC levels provides her players with a strong foundation in technique, discipline, and competitive preparation.
Deeply committed to developing young women through tennis, Lazarchak brings a player-centered approach grounded in communication, fundamentals, and team culture. Her background as a local athlete gives her unique insight into the demands and opportunities of high-level scholastic tennis in the Lehigh Valley.
Under her guidance, Liberty continues to be a respected and competitive presence in the EPC and District XI, with a strong emphasis on preparing athletes both for high school competition and for long-term success beyond the court.
